9:39 p.m. Sunday — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash at the traffic light at Whitestown and South Eberhart roads. Both drivers — Landon O’Donnell, 28, of Butler and Matthew Watterson, 24, of Lyndora — claimed the other one had the red light when their vehicles collided. Watterson’s passenger, Constance Kern, 21, of Butler, and her juvenile son, both suffered minor injuries. According to a police report, officers were unable to determine which driver ran the red light.
8:43 p.m. Friday — Distracted driving was the suspected cause of a one-vehicle crash on Fairground Hill Road. The crash happened when Dale Barnett, 56, of Renfrew lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. “Barnett admitted to being distracted by his phone,” according to a police report. He was cited for careless driving.
3:41 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Dale Confer, 23, of Slippery Rock struck a pickup truck on Hansen Avenue at Lyn Mar Plaza. Hannah Himes, 21, of Rimersburg, Clarion County, was the other driver. No one was injured but Confer’s vehicle had to be towed.
10:05 a.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Charles Holmes, 44, of Slippery Rock struck another vehicle at Route 356 and Hindman Road. Joseph Hoover, 50, of Butler was the other driver. Police said the collision occurred when Holmes ran a red light. He was cited for the traffic light violation.

Feb. 20 — Alyssa D. Barker, 25, of Mercer was charged with bouncing a $1,164.73 check in November at a Route 8 dealership. She passed the check Nov. 19 at Diehl’s Automotive for repair work, police said. Diehl on Dec. 17 sent Barker a certified letter seeking payment. The letter, according to court documents, was returned as “unclaimed.” Barker is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of bad checks.

9:53 a.m. Saturday — A driver of a Ford Focus struck a pickup truck at the East Butler Post Office. A police report listed the crash as a hit and run. It was not known if police have identified the driver of the car. Stanley B. Garing, 61, of East Butler was driving the truck.
8:21 p.m. Friday — A 21-year-old man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 68 in Forward Township. Police found the man after getting a call for a disabled motorist. Charges are pending lab results.
6:30 p.m. Friday — No one was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 79 south in Jackson Township. The crash happened when a sport utility vehicle driven by Noah A. Smith, 18, of Winterville, Ohio, struck another SUV. The collision forced the other vehicle, driven by Donald L. Querry, 47, of Renfrew into another SUV driven by Tracey L. Imler, 45, of Moon Township, Allegheny County. Police cited Smith for following too closely to another vehicle.
1:48 p.m. Friday — An SUV driven by Ashley E. Janecek, 20, of Sligo, Clarion County, struck a utility pole and fire hydrant along School Street just east of Annisville Road in Bruin. She was not hurt. Police cited Janecek for driving on the wrong side of the road and careless driving.
Friday — A gargoyle-style lawn statue was stolen from a home on Center Drive in Oakland Township. The statue was taken between 9 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
5:38 p.m. Thursday — An unspecified firearm belonging to a 53-year-old man was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Prospect Road in Connoquenessing Township. A police report provided no other information.
8:12 p.m. Thursday — A pickup driven by David J. Steiger, 19, of Butler struck a deer on Route 108 near Barron Road in Slippery Rock Township. Neither Steiger nor his passenger was hurt but the truck had to be towed.
3:43 p.m. Thursday — April L. Hall, 37, of Cabot lost control of her car and hit a mailbox and embankment on the 400 block of Main Street in Prospect. She was not injured but her car had to be towed. Police cited Hall for careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.
1:51 p.m. Thursday — Cecilia E. Geibel, 19, of Butler was hurt when the SUV she was driving overturned while cresting a hill on Aspen Road just north of Elm Road in Fairview Township. Police said she was flown by medical helicopter to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville with an apparent minor injury. She was wearing a seat belt. Her van, which ended on its driver’s side, had to be towed. Geibel was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
9:51 p.m. Feb. 20 — Tricia M. Smith, 35, of Chicora lost control of her minivan and struck two trees along Fallecker Road just north of St. Wendelin Road in Summit Township. She was not hurt but her vehicle had to be towed. Police cited Smith for driving at an unsafe speed, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without insurance, driving with a suspended license and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.
1:49 p.m. Feb. 20 — A pickup driven by Leon R. Dean, 35, of Slippery Rock hit a patch of slush and crashed on an embankment on South Benbrook Road just north of Route 422 west in Butler Township. Dean was not injured but his truck apparently had to be towed.
Feb. 19 — A thief made off with a Honda generator on Cornetti Road in Winfield Township. PennEnergy Resources owns the generator, which is valued at $3,000. A police report did not indicate if there are any suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
7:35 a.m. Feb. 18 — Unspecified items belonging to a 26-year-old man were reported stolen from a vehicle on Church Street in Petrolia.
2:22 a.m. Feb. 16 — A 24-year-old woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Route 8 and Mahood Road in Center Township.
