6:30 p.m. Saturday — Zackary J. Delaney, 20, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his mother during a domestic dispute at the family’s home on First Street.
Delaney is accused of shoving his mother to the ground several times, according to court documents, causing her to hit her head, scratch her right elbow and bruise her right leg.
Police said the defendant fled the home, but not before kicking and shattering the glass screen door. Officers found him near a convenience store on First Street. He admitted to police, documents said, that he had consumed shots of liquor earlier that day.
Delaney was arraigned on charges of simple assault and underage drinking, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.
Feb. 6 — Suellen M. Leitch, 23, of Butler Township was charged with having heroin, stemming from a warrant arrest last month at a North Main Street restaurant.
Police said an anonymous tip shortly before 5 p.m. Jan. 31 led them to the Dunkin’ Donuts. The tip claimed that Leitch was there, and the tipster knew she was wanted by police, according to court documents.
The information proved credible. An officer arrested her as she came out of a bathroom. An initial search allegedly turned up a partially empty stamp bag of suspected heroin in her jacket pocket.
Police took the defendant to the station, where a more thorough search was conducted. This time, documents said, police found four full stamp bags of suspected heroin in her wallet.
Additionally, she was allegedly found with an empty stamp bag, a used syringe and other suspected drug contraband.
Leitch is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
She was subsequently arraigned on charges related to the arrest warrant, including a felony count of trespass and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was given $10,000 unsecured bail on the charges.

9:07 p.m. Monday — Amber L. Walsh, 24, of West Sunbury was allegedly caught with pills for which she did not have a prescription and other drug contraband after being arrested at the Super 8 motel on Route 8 south.
Police said they went to the motel to serve Walsh with a felony arrest warrant previously issued to Butler police on a forgery charge for passing a counterfeit $50 Jan. 18 at a city store.
While being searched, according to a police report, she was found with the pills as well as empty stamp bags of suspected drugs and hypodermic needles. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Walsh was later arraigned on the forgery charge in the city case, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail.
7:29 p.m. Sunday — Kaitlyn E. Bell, 23, of Butler lost control of her car and slid into another vehicle on the 400 block of Belmont Road near Woodridge Drive. No one was injured. Police cited Bell for driving too fast for conditions.
8:05 p.m. Friday — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck at New Castle and South Duffy roads. Police said the crash occurred when Shawn Waltenbaugh, 31, of Butler failed to yield to oncoming traffic while he was making a left turn.
Waltenbaugh’s sport utility vehicle collided with a car driven by Destinee Koebler, 18, of Renfrew, according to a police report. Koebler’s passenger, Antonio DeVaugh, 20, of Butler, suffered a minor injury. A Butler Ambulance Service crew treated him at the scene.
Eastbound traffic on New Castle Road was detoured around the disabled car until the vehicle was towed away.
3:33 p.m. Feb. 7 — A vehicle driven by Karin Mahood, 52, of Karns City hydroplaned on Route 422 at the Benbrook Road overpass and spun into the cement barrier. Neither Mahood nor her passenger was injured. No citations were issued.

3:14 a.m. Sunday — A Pittsburgh man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a one-vehicle crash on Route 28 north’s off-ramp at exit 17 in Buffalo Township. Charges are pending lab results. A police report did not identify the suspect.
11:05 p.m. Saturday — Steven Dunmire, 25, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Litman Road in Butler Township. Police said charges are pending lab results.
10:37 p.m. Saturday — David E. Huff, 61, of Butler was cited for five traffic violations after a hit-and-run crash in Jefferson Township. Police said Huff fled after his car struck a parked car on O’Hara Road.
The owner of the car that was struck followed the suspect and was able to stop Huff. But he eventually again fled, according to a police report.
Police cited him for hit and run, failing to stop and give information or render aid following an accident, abandoning a vehicle on a road, careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.
Saturday — An unknown suspect broke into a motor home on Johns School Road in Forward Township. The would-be thief rummaged through the cabin area, but no items were taken. Police, however, noted that unspecified vehicle components were damaged in the incident.
9:32 a.m. Feb. 5 — An unidentified vehicle struck multiple mailboxes on Route 422 in Franklin Township. The unknown driver fled, traveling west on Route 422.
Jan. 28 — Police charged an Allegheny County man with drugged driving in connection with a December traffic stop for a window tint violation in Middlesex Township. He was pulled over around 9:10 p.m. Dec. 16 on Route 8.
The defendant, James L. Jones Jr., 36, of Penn Hills, subsequently allegedly showed signs of impairment during an evaluation by a certified drug recognition expert. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test that allegedly showed he had marijuana in his system.
He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.
