2:16 p.m. Jan. 25 — Andrew J. McCue, 33, of Butler and Suellen M. Leitch, 23, of Butler Township were arrested after they allegedly broke into a vacant home on the 300 block of West Penn Street.
Police said they found the defendants in back of the home after they were called for a man and woman seen there. McCue told police, according to court documents, that he and Leitch used a piece of wood to pry open the basement door.
Officers searched McCue and found him carrying eight syringes and three empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, according to court documents. A search of Leitch’s purse turned up a used syringe and a metal spoon with suspected heroin residue.
Both defendants are charged with a felony count of trespass and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jan. 17 — An Allegheny County man was arraigned on felony and misdemeanor drug charges after he was allegedly caught with nearly 5 ounces of marijuana during a traffic stop last month in Muddy Creek Township.
Police said they stopped Lewis Walls, 23, of Imperial around 11:10 a.m. Dec. 19 in the parking lot of the Pilot gas station on Route 422 for a window tint violation. A subsequent search of his backpack yielded two Mason jars containing a combined 138 grams of suspected marijuana.
Walls is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with unsafe equipment and driving a vehicle without valid inspection. He remains free on his own recognizance.
4:21 p.m. Jan. 22 — Christopher D. Reinhart, 39, of Lyndora was allegedly found with drug contraband after he was arrested on a bench warrant on the 400 block of West New Castle Street. Police stopped him walking out of an apartment building courtyard.
Officers searched Reinhart and allegedly found four empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, a drug-smoking pipe, a spoon with possible heroin residue and a tourniquet.
He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday — Police cited Ellen M. Sasse, 37, of Butler for defiant trespass after she was seen Dec. 20 at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She was previously barred from the property, according to a police report.
1:31 p.m. Monday — One person was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck at New Castle and North Duffy roads. The crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Linnea K. Shields, 57, of Valencia struck a vehicle driven by Kathleen Panko, 76, of Butler.
Shields’ vehicle, according to a police report, continued into another vehicle driven by Mary Ann Hiser, 63, of Prospect.
Panko’s passenger, Robert Panko, for whom no age or address was given, struck his head in the collision and suffered a possible broken nose, the report said. He was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Police cited Shields for failing to stop at a red light.
11:58 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Lorraine Dodds, 68, of Portersville rear-ended another vehicle on New Castle Road at Moraine Pointe Plaza. John Logue, 71, of Cowansville, Armstrong County, was the other driver. No one was hurt.
Police cited Dodds for following too closely to another vehicle.
9:01 a.m. Monday — A vehicle driven by Anthony Stagno, 68, of Butler hit the back of another vehicle on New Castle Road. Tresia Zang, 47, of Butler was the other driver. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles had to be removed from the scene.
4:26 p.m. Jan. 25 — Ronald A. Seezox, 54, of Butler was injured after he allegedly broke a bottle of wine inside the Greater Butler Mart’s Fine Wine & Good Spirits store and subsequently tripped out the store in the parking lot.
Seezox was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for unspecified injuries. Police cited him for public drunkenness.
Jan. 23 — Police charged an employee with punching another man during an altercation earlier this month at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. The victim needed hospital treatment for his injuries.
Leamen T. Miles, 19, of Butler Township is charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Police spoke to the victim at the Butler Memorial Hospital, where he was taken following the incident, which took place around 9:30 p.m. Jan. 18 and left him with a large bruise behind his right ear and several chipped teeth, according to court documents.
He told police that he went to the store to visit his girlfriend, who also works there. He suspected, a police affidavit said, that the defendant wanted to be “more than friends” with his girlfriend.
While he was speaking to the woman, the victim recounted, Miles walked by. The two men exchanged words and the defendant allegedly struck the victim on the right side of the head and face area.
Police later interviewed Miles, who claimed the victim was the aggressor. He admitted hitting the other man, the affidavit said, “but only after (the victim) came after him.”
5:14 p.m. Jan. 13 — Amber D. Selfridge, 39, of Butler allegedly failed to pay for $122.32 in merchandise at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. Police charged her with summary retail theft.

3:10 p.m. Wednesday — Police blamed snow and ice for a one-vehicle crash in Slippery Rock Township. The wreck happened when Alexa S. O’Toole, 26, of Slippery Rock lost control of her pickup truck and traveled into a yard on Route 258 just west of Kelly Boulevard.
11:55 a.m. Wednesday — A tractor-trailer driven by Juan Matos, 32, of Philadelphia struck an embankment on Route 8 just south of Branchton Road in Slippery Rock Township. He was not hurt, but his rig had to be towed.
Tuesday — An unknown thief broke into a car in northern Butler County, found a spare key to the car and stole the car. The theft occurred at the owner’s home on Route 8 in Mercer Township at some point between 8:30 p.m. Monday and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The car is a black, four-door Subaru Impreza Outback and has the Pennsylvania license plate number JNG8650. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
11:44 a.m. Monday — Two people were hurt when a Michigan teenager lost control of his speeding car and one car struck a concrete barrier on Interstate 79 in Harmony.
The car, driven by 19-year-old Cepeda K. Phillips of Detroit, traveled across both southbound lanes, through the grass median and across both northbound lanes.
Harmony Fire District volunteers had to extricate Phillips’ backseat passenger, Olivia C. Morales, 20, of Edison, N.J., who was taken by Harmony EMS to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Her condition was not known.
Another passenger, Joe D. Shaw, 21, of Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, suffered an apparent minor injury. No other information was available. All three occupants were wearing seat belts.
Police cited Phillips for driving at an unsafe speed, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
