Crop insurance webinars planned
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is hosting a series of webinars about crop insurance.
Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding said the department is partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Penn State and National Crop Insurances Services for the live, free webinars. The webinars will assist farmers and ranchers manage risk by helping them understand crop insurance products.
Participants will learn which crop insurance products are available, which risks are covered, how different types of insurance work, available policy options, how to navigate the application process and where to go for additional information and help. Webinar topics and dates are:
Thursday, written agreements
Tuesday, crop hail
Jan. 29, coarse grains
Jan. 31, fresh marketing and processing
Feb. 4 and 7, whole farm revenue protection
Feb. 12, tobacco
Feb. 14; potatoes, and
Feb. 19, cabbage.
