4:01 a.m. Nov. 17 — Jerrod S. Priest, 36, of Butler was arrested for being more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol after a one-vehicle crash in the 500 block of North Elm Street.
Police said they found Priest standing on the sidewalk near his wrecked sport utility vehicle that was on its driver’s side in the middle of the street. His hands were bleeding but he denied being the driver, according to court documents.
The investigating officer looked into the vehicle and noticed blood on the driver’s side air bag and on the overhead visor of the driver’s seat. When police again asked if he was driving, documents said, “he nodded his head in agreement.”
Priest declined to take field sobriety tests and police took him to the station for a blood test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.185 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.
He is charged with driving under the influence.

12:54 a.m. Thursday — Alvin Dean, 58, of Pittsburgh was arrested for driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint on Route 28 north at exit 17 in Buffalo Township.
Police said Dean appeared impaired and he admitted to smoking marijuana “a couple hours” before driving, according to court documents.
He failed field sobriety testing and was subsequently taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County for a blood test. Toxicology results are pending.
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Dean on charges of DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving a vehicle without valid inspection, careless driving and reckless driving. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail following arraignment.
Nov. 14 — A Zelienople teenager was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month on Route 8 in Center Township. Police said that while following 19-year-old Calista J. Caughey about 2:15 a.m. Oct. 28 they could smell the odor of burning marijuana coming from her car.
Troopers also saw her car twice touch the white fog line, according to court documents. Caughey admitted smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol earlier that evening, documents said. She failed field sobriety testing and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results confirmed she had marijuana in her system.
Additionally, her blood-alcohol level was 0.058 percent. In Pennsylvania, drivers under 21 are considered to be intoxicated with a blood-alcohol level of 0.02 percent or higher. The legal limit for adult drivers is 0.08 percent.
Caughey is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, DUI by a minor, underage drinking and disregarding traffic lanes.
1:56 a.m. Nov. 11 — Shaun M. Krill, 39, of Oakland Township was arrested for being more than double the state’s legal limit for alcohol following a traffic stop in Donegal Township.
Police said they stopped Krill after they saw his sport utility vehicle cross the double yellow line and white fog line on Route 68 near Gameland Road. He admitted to drinking prior to driving, according to court documents.
He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the barracks for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.171 percent
Krill is charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
2:52 a.m. Nov. 10 — Eric D. Berry, 22, of Donegal Township was arrested for drunken driving in Parker Township. Police said they pulled him over after they saw his pickup truck cross the double yellow line on Route 268 at least three times.
He failed field sobriety testing and was taken to the barracks for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.190 percent.
Berry is charged with DUI, driving an unregistered vehicle, failing to keep right and disregarding traffic lanes.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]
3:30 p.m. Friday — A teenager was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Springfield Township. The crash happened, according to a police report, when a car driven by Benjamin B. Bartle, 24, of New Castle and a pickup truck driven by Arthur O. Fischer collided at Route 19 and Route 208.
Bartle’s passenger, Amanda L. Mayle, 19, of New Castle, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with an unknown injury. Police said Bartle faces tickets for unspecified traffic violations.
