2:11 a.m. Sunday — Daniel Castellon, 22, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his wife at their home on Taylor Street.
The woman told police that Castellon grabbed her by the hair and slammed her face off the floor several times, according to court documents. He is also accused of hitting her in the back.
Police said they found the defendant sleeping in bed after they were called to the home.
Castellon was arraigned on a charge of simple assault. He is free on $3,000 bail.
[naviga:h3]Grove City Police[/naviga:h3]
4:04 a.m. Sunday — Matthew C. Bordick, 21, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence on East Main Street. Police said he was stopped for having faulty brake lights. Bordick is charged with DUI and a lighting violation.
2:20 a.m. Saturday — Shane V. Magee, 22, of Jackson Center was arrested for drunken driving after police pulled him over on West Main Street because his vehicle did not have valid registration. Magee is charged with DUI, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.
1:54 a.m. Saturday — Cody J. Pebbles, 27, of Grove City was arrested for DUI on East Pine Street. In addition to DUI, he is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
9:08 a.m. Nov. 16 — Vehicles driven by Carl R. Sapp, 80, and Gerald Toczek, 36, both of Grove City, collided at Blair and South Center streets. Police cited Sapp for a stop sign violation.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
11:13 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Teresa M. Cummings, 31, of Bruin struck an embankment on Bruin Road in Parker Township. Cummings and his two passengers were injured but the car had to be towed.
Nov. 14 — Police charged Tyler J. McDowell, 21, of Penn Township with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop on the 600 block of East Slippery Rock Road earlier in the month in Donegal Township.
McDowell was stopped about 1:10 a.m. Oct. 6 for going too fast and for crossing the center line. Police said he acknowledged having “three or four beers” before driving, according to court documents.
He was taken for a breath test after he showed signs of impairment during field sobriety testing. His blood-alcohol level was found to be 0.102 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
McDowell is charged with driving under the influence, driving at an unsafe speed, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to use turn signals and careless driving.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]
1:56 p.m. Nov. 13 — Cars driven by Gary Atwood, 73, of Kittanning and Travis Oesterling, 39, of Chicora collided on Route 422 just east of Hilltop Road in Kittanning Township.
Atwood, who was wearing his seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with an apparent minor injury. Police cited him for improperly entering or crossing a road.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]
Tuesday — A 13-year-old student at the George Junior Republic school for delinquent and dependent boys in Pine Township, Mercer County, allegedly exposed himself to a 14-year-old student Tuesday.
The same suspect, who police did not identify, exposed himself to an 11-year-old George Junior Republic student Nov. 12.
The suspect is facing charges of indecent exposure. Police said their investigation continues.
5:35 a.m. Nov. 16 — Three people were apparently injured when two tractor-trailers collided at Route 173 and Jackson Center Polk Road in Worth Township, Mercer County.
Charles W. Brown, 24, of Petrolia, one of the drivers, and his passenger, George W. Dearing, 62, of Pittsburgh, were both taken to Grove City Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries, according to a police report.
The other driver, Justin L. Bence, 37, of Stonesboro, suffered an apparent minor injury but he refused medical treatment. All three occupants were wearing seat belts.
Police said after the collision Brown’s rig hit a utility pole, causing the traffic control signals and wires to fall onto the road.
