Monday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for an Evans City man accused of the weekend break-in and theft at a friend’s house. Jamie C. Wright, 42, is charged with burglary and theft.
The victim, who lives in the 200 block of McClain Avenue, told police that Wright, an old friend, sent her a Facebook message Sunday informing her that he was in town and asking for a ride.
She told him she was busy and could not give him a ride. Wright, however, later that night walked into her home, uninvited, through the back door, according to court documents. The victim at the time was taking a shower and her two young children were on the living room couch.
The defendant asked the kids of their mother’s whereabouts. He then allegedly went upstairs and took $250 in currency from the victim’s purse.
