3:05 a.m. Tuesday — Katherine L. Klingensmith, 39, was arrested after she allegedly scratched and bit her 17-year-old son during a domestic dispute at their apartment on Fairview Avenue.
She was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and released on her own recognizance.
11:44 p.m. Aug. 9 — Mark E. Weyand, 51, of Summit Township was charged with being more than 2 times the state’s legal limit for alcohol following his arrest for drunken driving on the 500 block of Virginia Avenue.
Police said they found Weyand in a back of a sport utility vehicle that was parked with the engine running. He told an officer that he pulled over after becoming lost, according to court documents.
He was eventually taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.172 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.
Weyand was arraigned on a charge of driving under the influence. He is free on $2,000 bail.

1 p.m. Monday — Jeffrey E. Brown, 23, was arrested on a pair of felonies and other charges for allegedly assaulting a woman during a domestic dispute at his apartment on Heinz Road.
The 20-year-old victim, of East Brady, Clarion County, told police that Brown strangled her four or five times, according to court documents, causing her to become light-headed, dizzy and have blurred vision.
The defendant is also accused of hitting the woman’s head on a door and on the floor several times.
Police said the victim suffered “substantial” bruising and scratching to the neck, minor scratches and redness on both forearms, minor redness and swelling to both knees, and apparent minor swelling, redness and bruising around both eyes.
Brown was arraigned on felony charges of aggravated assault and strangulation, and misdemeanor charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment, and a summary charge of harassment.
He was placed in Butler County Prison on $7,500 bail following arraignment.
Monday — Ronald J. McFadden, 33, of Butler was arraigned on charges he tried to illegally buy a firearm at a Route 68 gun store earlier this year.
Police said McFadden allegedly provided false information on a federal form that was required Feb. 20 when he attempted to buy a pistol at Down Range Supply.
When his information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in the state, he was denied the purchase.
McFadden was arraigned on charges of unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.
Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police
6:35 p.m. Wednesday — Jason M. Roccia, 30, of Evans City was arrested after he allegedly strangled a woman during a domestic dispute at his apartment on Jefferson Street in Evans City.
The victim told police that Roccia grabbed her by the throat with his right hand for about five seconds, making it difficult for her to breathe, according to court documents. She said she had to push him away before he stopped.
Police said she had red marks around her neck.
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Roccia on felony charges of strangulation and aggravated assault. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.

2:01 p.m. Monday — Police said two sport utility vehicles collided in Winfield Township when one of the drivers, Andrew J. Moser, 32, of Evans City, allegedly ran a red light at Route 356 and Winfield Road. William H. Weber, 55, of Sarver was the other driver.
No one was injured but Weber’s vehicle had to be towed. Police cited Moser for traffic-control device violation and careless driving.
Monday — An Allegheny County man was charged with drugged driving and having cocaine and marijuana stemming from a traffic incident last month in Center Township.
Police said they came upon Donald A. Cowfer Jr., 31, of Russellton about 12:20 a.m. July 14 stopped in a car on East Brewster Road without its emergency flashers on. He allegedly acknowledged having smoked marijuana about 30 minutes earlier.
He also admitted to having cocaine and marijuana in the center console, according to court documents. Troopers seized the suspected drugs.
Cowfer was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed he had marijuana and cocaine in his system. His blood-alcohol level was 0.037 percent, which is below the 0.08 percent considered intoxicated under state law.
He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and failing to use hazard lights when stopped on a highway.
1:33 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Donna J. Brown, 59, of Pittsburgh crashed on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. She was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.
Saturday — An unknown thief stole a Harley-Davidson Bad Boy motorcycle at the Butler Fairgrounds parking lot on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. The theft happened between 4:30 and 9:45 p.m.
The bike is described as being black with red and pink pinstriping. It had a Maryland license plate and black leather saddle bags.

9:36 p.m. Friday — Cars driven by Fallon M. Bachman, 25, of Butler and a 16-year-old Slippery Rock girl wrecked on Route 8 at Unionville Road in Center Township. Police cited Bachman for driving at an unsafe speed and disobeying traffic-control devices.
Aug. 9 — Evan J. Luchkiw, 24, of Center Township was charged with being more than 2½ times the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a one-vehicle crash about 1:10 a.m. Aug. 6 in Center Township.
Police said when they got to the scene they learned that Luchkiw and his passenger had fled, according to court documents. They eventually found the passenger, who told troopers that he and the defendant had been drinking that night.
Within a half-hour, police found Luchkiw at Sunset and Sunflower drives in Center Township. He was “utilizing a stop sign to keep balanced,” a police affidavit said.
Police said the defendant had injuries from the wreck and he also appeared impaired. He admitted the had recently consumed “11 beers” before driving, the affidavit said.
Luchkiw was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.207 percent.
He is charged with driving under the influence, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and reckless driving.
Aug. 9 — Police charged Gerald L. Weatherholt, 53, of Parker with damaging about $2,000 worth of surveying equipment and property belonging to Precision Geophysical last month in Allegheny Township.
Weatherholt is accused of intentionally damaging 1,000 feet of wire cable, two dynamite blasting caps and a battery box.
He is charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
6:10 p.m. Aug. 8 — Both drivers were hurt in a two-vehicle collision at Route 528 and Dufford Road in Forward Township.
The crash happened, police said, when a pickup truck driven by David M. English, 57, of Evans City allegedly ran a stop sign and turned in front of a sport utility vehicle driven by Krisztina Beni, 46, of Slippery Rock. English was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with minor injuries. Beni also had minor injuries but she was not taken for medical treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Police cited English for a stop sign violation.
Aug. 8 — Two guns, valued at $1,550, were stolen from a 69-year-old man’s home on West Red Oak Court in Jefferson Township. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
Aug. 6 — Elizabeth Ann Walker, 22, no known address, allegedly stole $200 from her father after breaking into a safe at his home on Beacon Queens Court in Center Township. She also is accused of taking prescription medication belonging to her mother at the home.
Walker is charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and criminal mischief.
Aug. 5 — An unknown burglar made off with tools in a break-in at an unspecified structure on Route 38 in Washington Township. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
