5:56 p.m. Friday — Troy E. Wroblewski, 48, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his son during a domestic dispute at his home on the 900 block of West New Castle Street.
The victim, who suffered minor injuries, told police his father grabbed him on his side and punched him in the face and neck, according to court documents.
Wroblewski was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
July 23 — Jesse J. Markovitz, 38, of Butler was charged with having crack cocaine while police were investigating a call in May for suspected drug activity on the 300 block of Franklin Street.
Police said they were conducting surveillance May 8 when they saw Markovitz leave a home. They stopped and questioned him on the 200 block of East Brady Street.
While officers were speaking to him, according to court documents, he removed earphones from his pocket and a small plastic bag fell onto the sidewalk. The bag contained what appeared to be crack.
Police charged Markovitz with possession of a controlled substance.
12:23 a.m. July 18 — A Gibsonia woman was arrested for drunken driving after reportedly running a stop sign at South Monroe and East Cunningham streets.
Police said the defendant, Christine Ann Shoop, 45, admitted to having “a couple of drinks of alcohol” earlier that evening. She was subsequently taken to the station for a breath test that showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.121 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Shoop is charged with driving under the influence and a stop sign violation.
[naviga:h3]Butler Twp Police[/naviga:h3]
4:40 p.m. Saturday — Vehicles driven by Valerie M. Boyer, 57, and Mark N. Radick, 60, both of Butler collided on Route 8 north at Betres Plaza. No injures were reported but Boyer’s car had to be towed.
Police cited Boyer for failing to yield to another vehicle.
Thursday — Michael J. Bozik, 29, of Butler was charged with having marijuana and other contraband after he was found allegedly impaired about 11:20 p.m. July 20 in a disabled vehicle on Route 68.
Police said in addition to suspected marijuana, Bozik had a drug-smoking pipe. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.
4 p.m. July 23 — A vehicle driven by Todd W. Ralston, 49, of Sharon, Mercer County, rear-ended another vehicle on New Castle Road at Point Plaza. Calvin Duehart, 66, of Butler was the other driver. No one was injured.
Police cited Ralston for driving with a suspended license and driving at an unsafe speed.
[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock University Police[/naviga:h3]
2:30 p.m. July 22 — A Mercer County man is accused of giving police a bogus name during an investigation into a reported disturbance at Slippery Rock University’s Storm Harbor Equestrian Center.
A worker at the center told police that the defendant, Randy T. Bartlett, 29, of Mercer, was being disruptive and was not allowed in the building because he would not abide by the rules.
Police said when they asked Bartlett for his identification, he gave his name as “George Fisherman,” according to court documents.
Bartlett is charged with false identification of law enforcement authorities and disorderly conduct.

7:52 a.m. Sunday — A Georgia woman lost control of her sport utility vehicle and crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Marilyn Giordano, 67, of Rincon was not hurt but the vehicle had to be towed.
7:02 a.m. Sunday — A Prospect man was uninjured after the car he was driving struck a concrete cylinder along Spithaler School Road in Forward Township. The car had to be towed.
Police cited Orion R. Roberts, 19, with driving at an unsafe speed.
Thursday — An unknown thief stole two wheels and tires from the back of a white, 2014 Honda CRV at Honda North on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township.
The theft happened between 9 p.m. July 23 and 3 p.m. Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
July 24 — Michael J. Gladd, 47, of Butler was charged with having heroin in connection with a March traffic stop at Old Route 422 and Dick Road in Franklin Township. Gladd was a passenger in a pickup truck that was pulled over March 15 after police saw it had an expired inspection sticker.
When the defendant got out of the truck, according to court documents, several stamp bags of suspected heroin fell from his body and landed on the ground.
He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
July 23 — Heather Ann Kuhrt, 34, of Center Township was charged with drug contraband stemming from an investigation earlier this year in Butler.
Police said they found Kuhrt about 5:45 p.m. March 12 at West Pearl and North Bluff streets, and suspected she was impaired. A search, according to court documents, turned up a syringe, metal spoon, Chore Boy copper scrubber and a plastic cap with cotton filters.
She charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
