8 a.m. Monday — Matthew P. Williams, 34, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his wife during a domestic dispute at their home on the 50 block of Carbon Street.

The victim told police that Williams pushed and grabbed her in the area of her upper chest, according to court documents, causing a red mark.

He also is accused of opening the medicine chest mirror and slamming it shut, causing the glass to shatter and cutting his wife on the face, hand and feet.

Williams was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

6:39 a.m. Monday — Jonathan J. Daye, 25, of Butler was charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly punched and dragged a woman on Old Plank Road. The woman suffered minor injuries.

10:29 a.m. Saturday — Vehicles driven by Lee A. Kriebel, 44, of Chicora and Clair Dresher, 87, of Butler collided at Route 8 and 68. Police cited Kriebel for failing to stop at a red light.

3 a.m. Tuesday — Sheena Carl, 31, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on South Center Street.

1:35 a.m. Monday — William H. Tillia, 33, of Grove City was arrested on a bench warrant out of Butler County, following a traffic stop. Police cited him in the stop for driving with a suspended license-DUI related

He is being held in Butler County Prison for the warrant that was issued in March, court records showed, after he failed to appear for a hearing in a 2014 DUI case.

12:52 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Cynthia Smith, 69, of Harrisville was rear-ended on West Main Street near Industrial Drive. Police said the other driver, Matthew R. Haux, 19, of Grove City was not paying attention to the road.

Haux’s vehicle had to be towed. Police cited him for careless driving.

2:40 p.m. May 29 — A pickup truck driven by Jenny E. Powell, 53, of Slippery Rock struck a Canadian woman at South Center and West Pine streets. Karen Butler, 70, of Ontario suffered apparent minor injuries.

Police said Powell faces a ticket for failing to yield right of way to a pedestrian.

May 29 — Cody A. McBride, 31, of Harrisville was charged with having marijuana and other drug contraband in connection with a traffic stop last year in Harrisville. Police said they stopped him about 4:55 p.m. Nov. 29 during a seat-belt compliance detail in the borough.

A trooper said he smelled marijuana coming from the car, according to court documents, and McBride subsequently handed over 5.3 grams of the drug and a marijuana pipe.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

[naviga:h3]State Police, New Castle[/naviga:h3]

2:17 p.m. Thursday — Two people were hurt in a one-vehicle-wreck in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.

The crash happened when Deanna S. Maggio, 48, of New Castle lost control of her car on Frew Mill Road and struck a guardrail, landing in a ditch. She and her passenger, Michael A. Maggio, 56, of New Castle, both suffered apparent minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.

Police cited Deanna Maggio with careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving a vehicle without insurance and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Punxsutawney[/naviga:h3]

Friday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited two Butler County establishments for violating the state liquor law.

Rock Ann Haven on Greenwood Avenue in Butler Township is accused of miscellaneous violations between Feb. 14 and May 6. Burghers on Route 19 in Jackson Township between March 25 and April 27 allegedly failed to have its board-approved manager complete Responsible Alcohol Management Program training.

An administrative law judge will hear the cases.
