Monday — Aaron T. Moyers, 40, of Butler was arraigned on charges stemming from a May 3 disturbance at the police station on West New Castle Street.
Police said Moyers about 6:30 a.m. showed up at the station allegedly intoxicated. He was there despite being told to stay away, according to court documents, after officers during that same shift had dealt with him on two other occasions.
Moyers told police that he was there to report his vehicle stolen. Officers advised him that they knew his wife had the vehicle. He then reported his money stolen. Police, however, told Moyers they knew he “hadn’t even been home yet to know if any money was stolen,” documents said.
Moyers started to “argue loudly,” according to a police affidavit, and when officers told him to leave he ran to the 911 emergency call box on the outside of the station and pushed the call button.
He was arrested and subsequently arraigned on charges of defiant trespass and public drunkenness. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.
