One person was injured Wednesday in a crash on South Main Street, Butler, shortly before noon.

Butler police said a woman, whose name was not immediately released, ran a red light in a Buick Encore SUV and collided with another vehicle. The incident occurred around 11:50 a.m., according to Butler County 911 dispatch logs.

The woman ran a red light at the intersection of South Main and West Diamond streets, hitting the driver’s side of a Grand Cherokee, near the front of the vehicle.

Butler City Fire Department tended to the injured woman until EMTs arrived. The responders stabilized the neck of the Grand Cherokee driver and sent her by ambulance to a local hospital.

The Encore was able to be driven away from the scene.
