Charges follow road rage
A Butler man is facing assault charges after police say he was involved in a road rage incident in December.
Butler Township police filed charges Monday against Corey D. Slupe Jr., 24, after he allegedly assaulted another person during a road rage incident on Benbrook Road at Evans City Road at 5:38 a.m. Dec. 29.
Police said Slupe was involved in the incident with Richard Alwine, 44, of Slippery Rock.
After the vehicles stopped, Slupe got out and confronted Alwine, before allegedly hitting him multiple times, causing minor injuries to Alwine's face.
Slupe was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary disorderly conduct and harassment.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Feb. 22 before District Judge Kevin O'Donnell.
