Crash shuts down Bonniebrook Road

Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township was closed Sunday afternoon after a pickup truck knocked down a utility pole.

SUMMIT TWP — Bonniebrook Road between Herman Road and Brinker Road was closed for several hours after a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole Sunday.

The driver of the truck, an unidentified woman, was treated by Butler Ambulance Service for a possible leg injury.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. when the truck, driving northbound, went off the road, hitting the pole and coming to rest in a field.

Armstrong Cable and Central Electric responded to deal with the downed pole, fire officials said.

The Central Electric website reported Sunday afternoon that 14 households were without power.

State police investigated the crash.

State police and the Herman Fire Department, while still at the scene, were called to an unrelated crash around 5 p.m. at the nearby intersection of Bonniebrook Road and Portman Road.
