A Slippery Rock man was sentenced to time served in county jail after he pleaded guilty to assault and threats in county court on Tuesday.

Jeffrey D. Gill, 54, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple assault and terroristic threats in two cases before President Judge Thomas Doerr.

Doerr immediately sentenced Gill to time served to 24 months in the Butler County Prison, followed by nine months of county probation. He was also ordered to pay court costs and $300 in fines, complete 30 hours of community service and to complete anger management counseling.

Gill will be released after a parole plan is put in place.

He was initially charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment after an incident on July 19.

State police filed the charges after a fight between Gill and Derek S. Lowers, 24, also of Slippery Rock.

Police said both were injured in the fight at a home on the 300 block of Kelly Boulevard in Slippery Rock.

Both admitted to throwing punches during the mutual fight, police said. Both men suffered minor injuries in the altercation.

Lowers is also facing charges in the incident.

Gill was also charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct after an incident on Oct. 24.

Slippery Rock police charged Gill after he threatened his girlfriend, 44-year-old Brady Jo Hundley, with a knife at their home on Kelly Boulevard

Police said it is suspected that the two had been drinking when Gill came at Hundley with a kitchen knife, according to court documents. She called 911. No injuries were reported.

During the domestic disturbance a neighbor who was visiting managed to take photos of Gill holding the knife, police said.
