Authorities said three people were hurt in a two-car crash Saturday afternoon on Route 38 in Center Township.

CENTER TWP — Alcohol and speed were factors in a two-car crash Saturday on Route 38 that injured three people, including a small child, state police said.

The T-bone crash happened just north of Marshall Offstein Auto Sales about 2:10 p.m. when a southbound Ford Taurus driven by William J. Lamark, 46, of Wall, Allegheny County, crossed sideways into the oncoming lane, according to police.

Trooper Kenneth Walker said Lamark was subsequently arrested for drunken driving. He also was believed to be traveling too fast around a curve.

The other driver, Brittani M. Fedorek, 23, of Chicora was unable to avoid the crash and her northbound Dodge Avenger struck Lamark's car broadside.

Fedorek and her 3-year-old son were taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with apparent minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt and the boy was in a child safety seat.

Lamark's car was hit on the passenger side. He managed to crawl out of the vehicle He, too, was wearing a seat belt.

“It was kind of miraculous that he got out and was walking around,” Chief Nathan Wullf of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department said of Lamark.

The initial call to 911 reported there was entrapment following the collision.

Lamark smelled of alcohol but at first denied he had been drinking, Walker said. He later admitted having consumed alcohol.

He was taken to the barracks in Butler Township for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.085 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

While at the barracks, Lamark complained of rib pain and police took him to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment.
