Two charged with taking, sharing obscene photo

Two Butler residents were recently charged with sharing obscene photographs of another person without that person's knowledge.

Garett L. Goslaw, 21, and Emily R. Eichenlaub, 19, were charged by the state police in Kittanning on Friday following an investigation into incidents that occurred between July 13 and Nov. 24 in the 3000 block of Beck Road, Summit Township.

Police said Goslaw took an obscene photograph and Eichenlaub distributed it without the knowledge or consent of the victim.

The investigation began Nov. 24 when a report was made in which a photograph displaying the exposed breast of a woman had been transmitted to multiple people through cellular devices, police said.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, police said Goslaw had taken the photograph while the woman slept.

During an interview, police said he admitted to taking the picture “by accident,” but had saved the photograph, according to the document.

Eichenlaub was identified as the person who disseminated the image to others, through a fit of jealousy, according to the document.

Police said she admitted that she had copied the photograph onto her cell phone and distributed it to multiple people.

Goslaw was charged with two counts of misdemeanor invasion of privacy, while Eichenlaub was charged with two misdemeanor counts of distributing obscene material.

The two are awaiting their preliminary hearings.
