Joe Lofton of VFW Post 6231 places a wreath Saturday in Diamond Park in honor of fallen veterans. Similar services were held nationwide as part of National Wreaths Across America Day. Each December, volunteers place wreaths on veterans' graves in more than 1,200 locations throughout the U.S., with ceremonies at sea and at each of the national cemeteries. Saturday marked National Wreaths Across America Day. Each December, volunteers place wreaths on individual veterans’ graves in more than 1,200 locations throughout the U.S., with ceremonies at sea, and at each of the national cemeteries on foreign soil and other ceremonial locations.

The General Butler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted the ceremony in Butler where representatives of the armed services laid wreaths in Diamond Park.
