Former school secretary waives charges to court
SAXONBURG — A former school secretary accused of stealing more than $13,000 from a South Butler student activities account waived her charges to court last week.
Paula A. Vaughan, 59, of Clinton Township appeared before District Judge Sue Haggerty Wednesday and waived felony theft by unlawful taking and felony receiving stolen property charges to court.
Vaughan had worked for the district since 1991, but resigned earlier this year when police started investigating discrepancies in the student activities account. She admitted taking the money, according to a state police affidavit.
She is scheduled for arraignment in Butler County Court Jan. 23.
