Nicole Fiddler

A Slippery Rock woman, accused of stabbing her son during an argument with another person, was sentenced to fines in Butler County Court on Thursday.

Nicole L. Fiddler, 39, was sentenced to pay $150 in fines by county Judge William Shaffer after she previously entered guilty pleas to summary counts of harassment and disorderly conduct.

Fiddler also was initially charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault after an incident at 448 Slippery Rock Road, Slippery Rock Township, on July 1, 2016. Those charges were dismissed as part of the plea.

She also was ordered to continue her participation in alcohol treatment programs.

Fiddler was charged after state police said she was involved in a drunken fight with another woman, and when her son attempted to intervene, Fiddler cut his left hand and wrist with a knife, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Bail was set at $10,000 cash on July 2, 2016, but was reduced four days later to unsecured, and she was released.
