SEVEN FIELDS — Good weather, food and fellowship brought people from all over the area out Wednesday to Seven Fields' Food Truck Night.

Crowds of people perused the selection of food trucks, which included Bull Dawgs, Mission Mahi, Pigs in Paradise BBQ, Pittsburgh Pierogi, Pittsburgh Po'Boy, Southside BBQ and Wood Fired Flatbreads. Table 86 by Hines Ward was also there selling beer and other alcoholic drinks.

“I'm looking forward to the hot dogs,” said Andrea Bertsch of Seven Fields, who was there with her husband and two children.

Bertsch said they were there with neighbors who also have small children to enjoy the food and then enjoy the borough's outdoor amenities.

“We're going to go to the park afterward and our friends are going to the pool,” she said.

Many people were lounging in the grass or at the pavilion behind the pool after getting their food. Others stood around by the trucks to socialize and chow down.

Britt and Jerry Kenney of Seven Fields came out just for food. It was their first time at the event.

“The variety is great,” Britt Kenney said.

This is the second year for Seven Fields' Food Truck Night, which kicked off July 26.

The borough first organized the event last summer as a way to bring the community together, and it was a huge hit, said Tom Smith, borough manager. The selection of food trucks was expanded this year and organizers hoped to grow the event, bringing in more people from Seven Fields and surrounding communities.

Margie and Ray Mueser of Adams Township stopped out after their daughter raved about the po'boy sandwiches she had last week at Food Truck Night. The Muesers also came to Food Truck Night last year and enjoyed the food, they said.

Margie Mueser said it was nice sitting in the grass to eat, relax and people watch.

“It's a lot of fun,” she said. “It's a social thing.”

Smith said three or four trucks had run out of food by the end of the night, and the weather, which dumped rain on some other nearby areas, held out all night.

“It was another great night,” he said.

The weekly event continues from 5 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday until the last night, Aug. 23, and the line-up of trucks changes weekly. A complete list can be found on the borough's website at sevenfields.org.
