Michael Dale Roth
Michael Dale Roth, 77, of Slippery Rock passed away Tuesday at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born Sept. 25, 1938, in Parkersburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Albert F. and Willa D. (Trainer) Roth.
Mike was a 1962 graduate of Valparaiso University and received a degree in civil engineering.
He was a professional engineer and traveled across the country working on several major construction and bridge projects until the age of 74. His work included paving projects around the Liberty Tunnels, the I-279 Project, which included the Veterans and I-576 bridges, the MARTA System in Atlanta and the BART System in San Francisco.
Mike proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He also was a member and an elder of the Portersville Presbyterian Church. Mike began competing in his forties in several triathlons and qualified for the Iron Man Competition in Hawaii. He and his wife were members of the Paws and Taws square dancing group in New Castle. He enjoyed the outdoors and the farm life. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Karen (Baker) Roth, who he married Jan. 19, 1974; his children, Pam King and her husband, Jim, of Beaver Falls and Michael Roth of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three grandchildren, Bret Roth, Shaina Roth and Noah King; three sisters, Virginia (Ken) Cronenberger of Petroleum, W.Va., Katy (Dr. Victor) Hinricks of Columbus, Ohio, and Nancy (Ken) Harms of Huntington, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Roth, who died Nov. 4, 1990; and one brother, Charles Roth, and his wife, Shirley.
ROTH — The family of Michael Dale Roth, who died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, will welcome friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Presbyterian Church of Portersville, 1297 Perry Highway, Portersville.Mike will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Presbyterian Church of Portersville Cemetery.If desired, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Susan G.
