James ‘Jim’ Rock Jr.
James “Jim” Rock Jr., 64, of East Butler, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family.
James was born on March 17, 1962, son of the late James Rock Sr. and Sally (Todd) Rock.
He graduated from Butler High School. He went on to work as a supervisor at Standard Bent Glass before retiring in 2010. James loved riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing. Above all, he loved being with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Amy (Serafine) Rock, whom he married Feb. 19, 1983. They were married for 43 wonderful years and had many great memories together. He is also survived by two sons, Joseph (Maria) Andrew Rock and Joshua (Amber) James Rock; seven grandchildren, Damian, Sarah, Izabella, Lilah, Kevin, Cayden and Brendan; one brother, Greg Rock; and three nephews, Zack, Kaylob and Devin.
The family would like to thank Jim’s caregiver, Carolyn Sofi. She was truly heaven-sent and became a special part of the family in her time caring for Jim, and she always will be.
ROCK — Friends and family of James “Jim” Rock Jr., who died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3 p.m., with Pastor Dana L. Opp officiating.
