Francis ‘David’ Rowley

Francis “David” Rowley, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

He was the son of the late Francis and Myrtle Rowley, of Freeport.

Born Dec. 19, 1944, in Natrona Heights, Pa., he was the third oldest of seven siblings. He was a dear brother to Patricia Bongiorno, Fern Kelly, Charlotte Brandon, John Rowley, Sally Aron and his late sister, Dolores DeArmitt. He was also the beloved uncle of 10 nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.

He was a graduate of Freeport High School, Class of 1964. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and retired from Allegheny Ludlum in Brackenridge, Pa.

In his personal life, Dave was adventurous and loved the outdoors, and he found joy in traveling, snow skiing, water skiing, boating, scuba diving and biking the rails to trails. He was an avid bike rider right up to the last two years.

He was very social and had a group of friends that met twice a week for breakfast, up until the time of his death.

Devotion to his family was a high priority and he could always be counted on. He loved to read and research many topics.
