Woman swerves to miss deer, injured in Dinnerbell crash
JEFFERSON TWP — A woman had minor injuries Tuesday morning after she swerved and wrecked to avoid hitting a deer on Dinnerbell Road.
Lydia West of Sharpsville was driving west about 9:30 a.m. when she saw a deer, according to state police. West swerved to avoid hitting the animal but her vehicle slid on the wet road and into the guard rail, police said.
The accident happened just before the intersection of Dinnerbell Road and O’Hara Road near a bend that firefighters at scene said is a common place for accidents.
Traffic on that stretch of the road was down to one-lane for a while as authorities cleared the scene.
