2 alleged drug dealers nabbed
ADAMS TWP — A pair of alleged drug dealers are suspected of selling cocaine last year outside a township bar.
Officers with the Butler County Drug Task Force on Saturday arrested Ryan A. Lazor, 24, of Seven Fields and Kala R. Joseph, 25, of Allison Park, Allegheny County.
Lazor is suspected in separate hand-to-hand drug deals Sept. 28 and Oct. 8. Joseph is accused in the Oct. 8 deal.
Narcotics officers allege that a police informant and Lazor set up the initial deal, by cell phone, for the sale of a so-called “8-ball,” which is 3½ grams of cocaine, for $300.
During the controlled buy, surveillance officers watched the deal unfold shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a bar on Mars-Valencia Road, according to court documents.
Investigators noted that Lazor drove there in Joseph’s sport utility vehicle.
The state police crime lab later determined the cocaine weighed 1.75 grams.
The informant and Lazor set up a similar deal, again for an “8-ball” of cocaine outside the same bar Oct. 8. This time, documents said, Joseph accompanied her co-defendant. She was seated in the front seat of her SUV, which Lazor drove.
Officers said during the alleged deal, the informant handed Lazor $300. In turn, Joseph appeared to reach into the glove box and then into the front of her hooded sweat shirt.
“Joseph handed four plastic bags containing a white, powdered substance to Lazor, according to a police affidavit, who then handed them to the (informant).”
Lab tests showed the cocaine weighed 2.45 grams.
District Judge Sue Haggerty on Saturday arraigned Lazor on two felony charges each of delivery of a controlled substance, conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility, and misdemeanor charges each of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Joseph was arraigned on one count each of those same charges.
Following arraignment Lazor and Joseph were placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail and $3,000 bail, respectively.
