John Edward Yenick
John Edward Yenick, 57, of Herman went to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday after an extended illness. John passed away at his home with his family at his side.
Born April 19, 1958, in Butler, he was the son of Mary Ellen Rhodaberger Yenick and the late Robert Yenick.
John was employed for 31 years in highway construction as a truck driver for Safety Grooving and Grinding.
His family and friends will never forget his willingness to help others and his happy-go-lucky nature. Some of his favorite times were spent with his granddaughter. He also enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together and going to camp with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Saint Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. He was also a member of the Roman Catholic Men's Club, the French & Belgium Club, the Italian Fraternal Society and the East Butler Fireman's Club.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Therese Reddick Yenick, who he married Nov. 13, 1993; one son, Jeremy Yenick and his fiance, Kayla Morris, of Herman; one daughter, Kristie Yenick of Herman; his mother, Mary Ellen Rhodaberger Yenick of Cabot; two stepsons, Michael Turner and his companion, Billie Jo Bartley, of Herman and Matthew Turner and his wife, Holly, of Evans City; one granddaughter, Lillyana Yenick of Herman; three brothers, Tony Yenick and his wife, Pat, of Evans City, Robert Yenick and his wife, Karen, of Butler and Charles Yenick and his wife, Cindy, of Renfrew; three sisters, Theresa Cox of Cabot, Rita Resides of Fenelton and Elizabeth Wilson and her husband, David, of Portersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Yenick; one infant sister, Linda; and one infant brother, Joseph.
YENICK — Friends of John Edward Yenick, who died Saturday, April 2, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Herman, with the Rev. Mark Pattock, OFM Cap., officiating.
