Bud Hudak

Bernard S. “Bud” Hudak Jr., 61, of Butler passed away of natural causes Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Butler on Sept. 25, 1952, and was the son of the late Bernard S. and Jean Kieszkowski Hudak Sr.

Bud worked for 40 years as a mechanic for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

He was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Bud was a life member of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as fire police captain for many years. In addition, he belonged to the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, East Butler Volunteer Fire Department, the Roman Catholic Men’s Club, the Italian Society, the French and Belgium Club, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Butler County Law Enforcement Association, the Sheriff’s Association, the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, AFSCME Local 2104 and many other organizations.

He is survived by one brother, Walter A. “Wally” Hudak and his wife, Janet, of Butler; two sisters, Julie Ann Ekas of Deer Park, Texas, and Elaine Wogan and her husband, John, of Butler; two nieces; two nephews; and five great-nieces.

HUDAK — Friends of Bernard S. “Bud” Hudak Jr., who died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Monday at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.Members of St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at the church at 11:30 a.m. Monday to recite the rosary.The family requests memorial donations to the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
