Lois Lingenfelter
Lois A. Lingenfelter, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born July 24, 1940, in Stump Creek, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Catteau) Shaffer.
To know Lois was to know a woman whose heart belonged to her family and to her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the matriarch of the family, the heart and the glue that held everyone together. Her love reached across generations and to all she met.
Lois was a deaconess at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church. She enjoyed crocheting, game shows and spending time with her family and friends.
Lois is survived by her children, Loree (Jesse) Rumbel, Amy (Eugene) Christy and John (Helen) Lingenfelter. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Eugene Christy III, Stephen (Sabrina) and Gavin (Kalie) Lingenfelter, and Thomas (Chris), Jason and John Rumbel. Her love continues through her great-grandchildren, Eric, Shelby, Haley, Ireland, Piper, Cole, Ava, Nolan, Adley and Ashton.
Along with her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John Lingenfelter; her siblings; and her son-in-law, Eugene W. Christy.
LINGENFELTER — Family and friends of Lois A. Lingenfelter, who died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Butler, PA 16001. Funeral services will immediately follow in the church.
Due to the family's wishes, no flowers please. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, in honor of Lois.
