Butler Police6:55 p.m. Wednesday — Lacey Ann McCandless, 28, was arrested after she allegedly attacked her boyfriend, 32-year-old James L. Blair, during a domestic dispute at their Mercer Street home. Blair suffered minor injuries.McCandless, who is charged with simple assault, is free on nonmonetary bail.12:31 a.m. Tuesday — Michele R. Corbett, 34, of Karns City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after she narrowly missed hitting a parked vehicle in the parking lane at Cunningham and McKean streets.In addition to DUI, police said Corbett also was cited for driving with a suspended license-DUI related and a lane violation.Tuesday — Douglas L. Robertson, 54, of Butler was arrested after allegedly shoplifting food from two Butler stores.Police suspect Robertson about 1:10 p.m. made off with $3.39 worth of braunschweiger from the Friedman’s supermarket on West Brady Street.Later that evening, according to a police report, he showed up about 6:40 p.m. at the A-Plus convenience store at East Jefferson and North Elm streets, and snatched a ham, egg and cheese croissant and a hot dog, worth a combined $3.70.Police soon after stopped Robertson on St. Paul Street. Officers said he smelled of a “strong odor” of alcohol. He was searched and found with the croissant and hot dog, police said.Police charged him with two felony counts of retail theft because he has two prior convictions for shoplifting. He also was cited for public drunkenness.Robertson is free on his own recognizance.
Butler Twp. Police4:54 p.m. Tuesday — Mark Barton, 40, of Cabot was hurt when the car he was driving rear-ended a pickup truck on Evans City Road near the Hostess Shop. Barton suffered a minor injury to his forehead. Scott Hoffman, 34, of Butler was driving the pickup.Tuesday — Dorian D. Fancher, 31, of Pittsburgh is accused of lying to police in connection with a traffic stop about 6:05 p.m. March 11 on South Duffy Road.Police said Fancher, who did not have his driver’s license with him, gave officers a phony name. He also signed the bogus name on the ticket receipt, according to court documents.At a May 30 traffic hearing, police learned the suspect had faked his identification. Later, they learned his license had been suspended.He is charged with false swearing to mislead police, unsworn falsification, false identification, driving without a license, driving under suspension and failing to carry his license.Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Angelo Pucci, 86, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped at North Main Street Extension and Filbert Road. Raymundo Ornelas, no age given, of Butler was the other driver.
