Grace Hochberg Heltzell
Grace Hochberg Heltzell, 102, of Meridian passed away at 9:35 p.m. Sunday at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, where she was a resident for 13 years.
She was born Aug. 1, 1909, in Penn Hills, to the late William H. Hochberg and Anna Miller Hochberg.
Mrs. Heltzell was a member of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church.
She worked at the Butler Eagle as the assistant society editor for 18 years before retiring in 1974.
Mrs. Heltzell was a past member of the Meridian Woman's Club, the Meridian Area Retired Citizens, the Buttercup Garden Society, the Sarah Circle at the Meridian United Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. She also served on the Beaver-Butler Area Agency on Aging, the Butler Area Agency on Aging and the Butler Area Girl Scout Council. Mrs. Heltzell was a Girl Scout leader in Meridian and a Cub Scout den mother. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and playing bridge.
Mrs. Heltzell is survived by one son, David R. Heltzell and his wife, Karen, of Meridian; three grandsons, Douglas Heltzell of Meridian, James Heltzell and his wife, Sara, of Cranberry Township and Eric Heltzell and his wife, Erann, of Meridian; four great-grandchildren, Rebekah Grace and Sydney Faith Heltzell of Cranberry Township and Matthew Carter and Mason Grant Heltzell of Meridian; one sister, Wilma H. Heath of Lancaster, Ohio; two nieces; and four nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin D. Heltzell, who she married on May 19, 1937, and who passed away on Sept. 4, 1975; one brother, Homer Hochberg; and three sisters, Ruth H. Turner Green Woodruff, Clara H. Jordan and Hazel H. Clelland.

North St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with funeral services following at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Franklin of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church officiating.
