Ronald West
Ronald William West, 72, of Zelienople, passed away after a brief illness at Good Samaritan Hospice of Wexford on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
He was born Feb. 8, 1954, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Lora Ann Thomaselli and George Samuel West Sr.
Ron proudly graduated from WVU and worked as a computer analyst/programmer and he retired from BNY Mellon. He collected coins, enjoyed baking cookies, loved to garden (especially sunflowers), was a fan of Pittsburgh sports and any sport his kids or grandkids were playing. He never missed a game or race. He volunteered at the Senior Center in Cranberry and at his grandkids’ races. He made friends wherever he went and would help anyone he could.
He always had a funny story to share and loved making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Elaine (Wagner) West, of Zelienople, whom he was married to for 49 years; his brother, Thomas J. West, of Atlanta, Ga.; his children, Jennifer E. West and Brian J. West; daughter-in-law, Sarah E. Brandstetter; grandchildren, Samuel J. West and Gabriel K. Kukkonen; and eight nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Samuel West Jr. and Ricky James West; his sister, Tamara McClure; and an infant son, James Alexander West.
WEST — A Mass of Christian burial for Ronald William West, who died Thursday, July 2, 2026, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.
Following Mass, a luncheon to celebrate Ron’s life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at American Legion Post No. 512, 1341 Route 68, Rochester, Pa.
