Karen A. Dunn, 87, of Butler, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday July 4, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 24, 1938, in New Kensington, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Gerald T. Stepp and Ruth E. (Hagan) Stepp.

Karen was a graduate of Butler High School, where she became a secretary for the school for a number of years before becoming a homemaker devoted to her family. She enjoyed watching tennis, being outdoors, gardening and bird watching. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dale E. Dunn, whom she married Aug. 2, 1958; three sons, Thomas E. (Carla) Dunn, of Cranberry Township, Eric S. (Amanda) Dunn, of West Deer Township, and Steven E. Dunn, of Butler; three grandchildren, Courtney H. (Connor) Battin, Ryan S. Dunn and Emily T. Dunn; brother, Larry G. (Stephanie) Stepp; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Marsha E. Matson.

DUNN — All services for Karen A. Dunn, who died Saturday July 4, 2026, will be held privately, per family wishes.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
