The North Country Trail Butler County Chapter will have a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, Brady Township, where hikes and trail maintenance opportunities will be discussed.

The chapter will also celebrate the semiquincentennial of the U.S. Aug. 29. Learn history on the North Country Trail with a visit to the Old Stone House and the Foltz School House. Meet in the parking lot of the Old Stone House on Route 8 at 10 a.m. Aug. 29. The Old Stone House is down the road from Jennings. To register, sign up by emailing but@northcountrytrail.org.

The chapter will also have an information booth at two public events. One is July 9 through 11 at Cranberry Summer Nights and the other is Aug. 1 and 2 at the Moraine State Park Regatta.
