Butler Police12:54 p.m. Saturday — Two people were hurt when a sport utility vehicle and minivan collided on Center Avenue. The crash happened when the van driven by Christine M. Phillips, 36, of Evans City pulled from a curb and attempted to make a U-turn. The SUV driven by Michelle Fraser, 34, of Butler struck the van.Both drivers were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Phillips was cited for improperly entering or crossing a road.10:13 a.m. Saturday — Ryan Z. Wilson, 20, no known address, was picked up and placed in the Butler County Prison on an arrest warrant issued to city police in August. Wilson is charged in the warrant with making a false report to police. He is on probation stemming from a 2010 home burglary in Butler.Saturday — Police discovered that an unknown vehicle had struck a “No parking here to corner sign” sign in the 200 block of Mercer Street. The sign had been sheared off and moved about 40 feet from where it was posted.
State Police, Butler4 p.m. Sunday — Adam Blair, 21, of Grove City was hurt when a vehicle rear-ended the car he was driving at Route 38 and Annisville Road in Washington Township. The crash spun the car around and into a ditch. Price, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Jeremy Schrecengost, 21, of Chicora, the other driver, was cited for careless driving.12:55 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Aaron P. Crider, 18, of Prospect struck a deer on Pfeifer Road north of Route 19 in Lancaster Township. The car hit an embankment after hitting the deer.Sunday — Someone broke into an Ohio man’s camp in Connoquenessing Township and stole a number of undisclosed items. The burglary on Lower Harmony Road happened between Wednesday and Sunday.11:30 p.m. Saturday — Eric L. Powers was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, 24-year-old Shannon L. Scott, during a domestic dispute at their Schnur Road home in Summit Township. Scott suffered minor injuries to her right wrist and left elbow. Powers was placed in the Butler County Prison on a charge of simple assault.12:02 a.m. Saturday — Travis D. Harry, 29, of New Castle was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car struck a concrete Jersey barrier on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Harry, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.11 p.m. Friday — Three teenagers were hurt in a reported case of road rage on Rennick Road near Route 356 in Jefferson Township.The drivers of both cars in the incident pulled off the road after some kind of provocation. A physical altercation ensued during which three people — a 19-year-old Cabot man, a 17-year-old Saxonburg boy and a 16-year-old Butler boy — in one car suffered unspecified injuries.Police said the alleged victims described the unknown suspect as a black man in his 30s, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 225 pounds. He was driving a large, silver sport utility vehicle.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.7:40 p.m. Wednesday — Clyde L. McNeish, 68, of East Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car went off the road, hit a large rock and rolled onto its roof. McNeish, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.In addition to DUI, McNeish faces charges of driving with a suspended license-DUI related, driving at an unsafe speed and not wearing a seat belt.Tuesday — Someone broke into the Church of God of Prophecy on Route 268 in Fairview and stole a laptop computer. The burglar smashed out a side basement window to get into the church on Oct. 3 or Tuesday.10 a.m. Oct. 3 — A car driven by Carol Kelly, 63, of Phoenix, Ariz., struck a retaining wall at 129 Shearer Road in Oakland Township.Oct. 3 — A burglar pried open the door of a basement of the Petrolia Borough Building on Main Street in Petrolia. Another door to the same basement, used by Curdo Hair Salon, also was pried open.A police report did not indicate if anything was taken or if investigators have a suspect in the break-in that happened between 7 and 9 p.m.6:43 p.m. Oct. 2 — Two people were hurt when an SUV driven by Nicole M. Papp, 21, of Butler struck an embankment and rolled over at least two times, landing on its side on Route 308 near the Windward Apartments in the area of Leeward Drive in Center Township.Papp and her passenger, Ian Kerner, 24, of Bethel Park, Allegheny County, suffered minor injuries; neither was wearing a seat belt. Papp was cited for a lane violation.Sept. 28 — A vandal caused more than $15,000 in damage by pouring sand into the engine oil fill tube of a Jefferson County man’s log skidder in a wooded area on Bryon Center Road in Allegheny Township. The vandalism happened between Sept. 26 and 28.State Police, Kittanning55 a.m. Sunday — Two cars struck the same deer on Route 422 just west of Young Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The accident happened when an eastbound car driven by Ryan A. Gidaro, 26, of New Castle hit the deer and then veered off the road and struck an embankment.The deer went into the westbound lane after it was hit, and then was hit again by a westbound car driven by David S. Price, 29, of New Castle.8:03 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Matthew Tack, no age given, of Worthington hit an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Wilson Road in North Buffalo Township. Tack was cited for careless driving.
