Tuesday — Police said Michael L. Hodges, 27, of Butler allegedly passed an $850 check, written on an account with insufficient funds, to his landlord Sept. 7. Hodges is charged with bad checks.Butler Twp Police4:54 p.m. Monday — Paul J. Galster, 31, of Butler was arrested after he tried to get away from officers following a traffic stop on Hansen Avenue. Police said Galster, who was wanted on a warrant, ran off after officials stopped his vehicle.Police nabbed the suspect on Bessemer Avenue a short time later. He was arraigned Tuesday on charges of escape, resisting arrest, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief.Additionally, Galster is charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving with a suspended license. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail, following arraignment.Monday — Leroy Steiner, 18, of Butler faces criminal charges after Butler Senior High School officials about 1:45 p.m. Oct. 13 found a compound bow, three arrows and a folding knife in his vehicle at the school parking lot on Campus Lane. Steiner is charged with possession of weapons on school property and disorderly conduct.
Monday — A burglar forced open a door and ransacked the Fox's Pizza shop on Route 173 in Slippery Township. A police report did not say if anything was taken in the burglary between 10:45 p.m. Sunday and 10:45 a.m. Monday.
Monday — Three guns were stolen in a burglary at a home on Pump Station Road in Toby Township. The stolen guns were a Remington .30-06, Ithaca Featherlight 12-gauge shotgun and a Marlin .22-caliber semi-automatic rifle. The burglary happened between Aug. 28 and Monday.
Sunday — Decorative pumpkins and corn and a sign advertising "Hamilton Pumpkins" were stolen from Nutt Road in Pine Township. The decorations were around Susan Hamilton's mailbox and the sign was at the intersection of Nutt Road and Route 208.The property, stolen between 8 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday, is valued at $80.
