8:49 a.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Dalton Covert, 17, of Butler ran into the Family Video building on West Cunningham Street. The teen told police that his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas pedal, causing the pickup to jump the sidewalk and hit the building.4:07 p.m. Sept. 21 — A car driven by Sally Moore, 73, of Oakland Township and a motorcycle driven by James Caldwell, 36, of Butler collided on West Cunningham Street. Caldwell, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

8:30 p.m. Sunday — Shanna Moxley, 29, of New Castle was caught allegedly shoplifting at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. She is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.9:39 a.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Larry Heasley, 65, of Butler and a car driven by Matthew Boyle, 24, of Fenelton collided at Morton and Brown avenues. Kristen Leroy, 24, of Cabot, a passenger in the car, suffered a minor leg injury. Heasley was cited for a stop sign violation.2:35 a.m. Sunday — Jason L. Bailey, 39, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after he was stopped for speeding on New Castle Road.3:45 p.m. Saturday — Carol McVicker, 60, of Butler was arrested for DUI after a chain-reaction crash at South Duffy and Whitestown roads left another woman injured.Police said the accident happened when McVicker's car rear-ended another car driven by Teresa Bascom, 54, of Butler. In turn Bascom's car was forced into the back of a sport utility vehicle driven by Andrew Barkus, 26, of Butler.Bascom was treated at the scene for an unknown neck injury.McVicker, in addition to DUI, is charged with careless driving.Saturday — Several vehicles were vandalized while parked at the Days Inn on Route 8 South. The unknown vandal or vandals scratched words and pictures in the paint of the vehicles between 8:45 p.m. Friday and 2:43 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.Sept. 28 — Two girls face charges in connection with a fight at the Butler Intermediate High School. Police did not identify the girls, a 16-year-old from Lyndora and a 15-year-old from Butler. The teens are charged with disorderly conduct and harassment.9:30 p.m. Sept. 22 — Four Butler area teenagers are accused of walking out of a $48 bill after eating at the Eat-N-Park on New Castle Road. Charged with theft of services are Taylor Norris, 18; Brandon Norris, 18; Bethany Schmidt, 18; and a 17-year-old who police did not identify.

8:15 p.m. Friday — Joshua Isacco, 27, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly punched and kicked a 28-year-old Butler woman on Barron Lane in Center Township. Isacco was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail.5 p.m. Friday — Anthony J. Smith, 34, of Butler was taken to the hospital after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a pickup truck at Route 68 and Buhl Road in Forward Township.The crash happened when Smith tried to make a U-turn and crossed into the path of the truck. Smith, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with minor injuries. He was cited for an unspecified traffic violation.1:30 p.m. Friday — William Lutz, 67, of Ellwood City was injured when the pickup he was driving crashed into a utility pole, rolled several times, struck two trees and landed on its roof along Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township. Slippery Rock volunteer firefighters had to free Lutz from the wreckageA medical helicopter took Lutz to an unspecified hospital with moderate to serious injuries.10:05 a.m. Friday — Olyn Lauster, 66, of Butler was hurt when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car on Route 488 about two-tenths of a mile west of Route 422 in Franklin Township. Lamster, who was wearing a helmet, was treated at the scene for a minor hand injury. Allyssa S. Holmes, 19, of Prospect was driving the car.Thursday — A hunter's infrared trail camera was stolen from an unspecified location on Clay Lane in Clay Township. The camera, valued at $300, was stolen between Sept. 28 and Thursday.

Sept. 25 — Twenty-eight bronze veterans' grave makers were stolen from two cemeteries in Bradys Bend Cemetery between 4 p.m. Sept. 24 and 8 a.m. Sept. 25. Police said 15 of those markers were taken from Bradys Bend Cemetery and 13 were taken from St. Mary's Cemetery.In all, the markers are worth a combined $500.
