Wednesday — Michael D. Mohn, 45, of Butler was arrested for allegedly violating his ex-wife's protection from abuse order earlier this month. Cammy Mohn, 31, told police that she was on Brugh Avenue when the defendant drove by and called her a derogatory name.Mohn was arraigned on the alleged PFA violation and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.Wednesday — Amanda Lee Haskin, 21, of Butler is accused of using her mother's bank debit card on July 10 and 12 to make three unauthorized transactions at two Butler businesses, police said. Haskin is charged with access device fraud.Tuesday — Police arrested Tokin L. Roy, 31, of Butler on charges that he used a bank debit card stolen from a car on Franklin Street earlier this month, to buy cigarettes and DVD movies.Police suspect Roy broke into the car on July 9 and took the bank card as well as a satellite radio and $300 in cash, according to court documents.He later took the card to a convenience store on East Jefferson Street, where he and Kristi Kiefer, 33, of Butler allegedly used it to make $77.22 in unauthorized purchases.The store's video surveillance system helped police identify the suspects, documents said.Roy is charged with conspiracy to commit forgery, theft from a vehicle and receiving stolen property. Police said Kiefer faces similar charges.6:20 p.m. Monday — Ralph Baer, 38, of Butler was hurt when he fell off his motor scooter while turning from West New Castle Street onto Mercer Street. Baer was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. Police said they did not know if he was wearing a helmet.
Monday — Police charged two people, one for driving under the influence and another for drug possession, following a traffic stop on Ekastown Road earlier this month.A patrol officer about 8:40 p.m. July 2 stopped the suspects' pickup truck during a speed check. The officer smelled burned marijuana coming from the truck cab, according to court documents.Michael R. Gent Jr., 20, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, the driver, admitted he and a passenger, Jeremy E. Gent, 19, of Freeport, had smoked marijuana in Tarentum "just prior to driving the vehicle," a police affidavit said.Michael Gent Jr. was arrested for drugged driving. Results of a blood test later revealed he had marijuana in his system.A search of the pickup's passenger side door pocket turned up suspected marijuana and a marijuana pipe.Michael Gent Jr. is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and speeding. Jeremy Gent is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Wednesday — Police charged George Zaborowski, 40, of Cabot with indecent assault and harassment after he allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old Fenelton girl Saturday evening at a Cornetti Road home in Clearfield Township.8:30 a.m. Tuesday — An unknown burglar stole a Sony video camera, Nikon digital camera and two containers of coins from a home in the 400 block of Mahood Road in Center Township.Monday — Police charged Emily N. Sopel, 26, of Center Township with felony retail theft after she allegedly shoplifted several cosmetic rings, valued at less than $50, from the Boscov's in Clearview Mall, Center Township on July 7.Normally a misdemeanor, retail theft is upgraded to a third-degree felony when a defendant has at least two prior arrests for the same crime. Court documents noted this month's case is her third such case.Sunday — An unknown thief made off with $50 Saturday or Sunday after breaking into a soda machine at O'Donnell's Sports Supply on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township.Saturday — More than $4,000 in property, ranging from consumable products to electronics, was stolen in a burglary at an apartment on Route 308 in Cherry Township. The break-in happened between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.State Police, PunxsutawneyTuesday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported that Lee's Place on Herman Road in Summit Township was recently cited for allegedly violating the state liquor law.Authorities allege the bar operated without a valid health permit between the time the permit expired on Oct. 2 and April 9.The charge could result in fines between $50 and $1,000, and a possible license suspension or revocation.
