Rita S. Osche
Rita S. Osche, 90, of Herman died peacefully at her home Saturday afternoon.
A lifelong resident of Herman, Rita was born there April 25, 1920, a daughter of the late Eugene and Annie Reott Geibel.
A homemaker, she was a lifetime member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Herman, and she had been a member of St. Mary's Christian Mothers, the Herman Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the Tanglewood Center. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and she enjoyed playing cards, bingo and gambling casino trips.
She was the widow of Arthur M. Osche, who died Jan. 18, 2009. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are a son, Larry Osche, and his wife, Helen, of Herman; three daughters, Janet (Dale) Wells of Butler, Elaine "Jimmy" Neff (Bernard 'Bud') and Marlene (John) Price, both of Herman; four sisters, Bernetta Oesterling of Cabot, Luella (Robert) Armahiser of Great Belt, Lucille (Donald) Reibold of California, and Arlene (William) Cubbage of Butler; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
<B>OSCHE</B> — A Mass of Christian burial for Rita S. Osche, who died Saturday, May 15, 2010, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Herman. The Rev. Mark Carter, OFM, Cap., will officiate. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. There will not be a public visitation.The family suggests that memorial donations could be made to the hospice program of the Butler Area Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Arrangements are by <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>.
