John H. Krestel, 76, of Renfrew, Connoquenessing Township, died Sunday evening, May 9, at his residence.

Born in Ellwood City, Dec. 25, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Jeann Helling Krestel.

He was a retired drafting engineer for Herr-Voss Corp.

He was active in the Boy Scouts and Order of the Arrow.

He enjoyed model railroading and rendezvousing.

Surviving are his wife, Edyth "Edie" West Krestel, whom he married Aug. 10, 2001; two sisters, Helen "Pud" Pander and her husband, Biff, of Ellwood City and Becky Marcella of New Middletown, Ohio; and a brother, Thomas Krestel and his wife, Linda, of Struthers, Ohio.
