Michael John Peterson
Michael John Peterson, 60, of Portersville passed away Monday afternoon at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born June 12, 1949, in Ellwood City and was the son of George and Mary Jane (Cochran) Peterson.
He was a retired union carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 2274.
He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran.
Mr. Peterson was a member of the Church of Christ in Zelienople, where he had been a treasurer for many years.
He enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Mick Peterson, who he married Aug. 14, 1971; two daughters, Sandra Peterson of Portersville and Rebecca (Jordan) Harris of Pittsburgh; and two brothers, Carl (Margaret) Peterson of Arizona and Richard (Jacque) Peterson of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patricia Zeller; and one brother, Robert Peterson Sr.
<B>PETERSON</B> — Family and friends of Michael John Peterson, who died Monday, May 10, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Reid Moon, his pastor, Pastor Ron Nagel, his nephew, and Pastor Stevie Mick, his brother-in-law, all officiating.
