Gerald 'Jerry' Andre
Gerald D. "Jerry" Andre, 81, of Kittanning Street, Chicora, went home to be with his Maker at 3:56 p.m. Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Mr. Andre was born in Chicora on Oct. 24, 1928. He was the son of Earl and Carrie Mae Lewis Andre.
Mr. Andre had been employed by Witco in Petrolia. He operated his own lawn care and landscaping business in Florida. Most recently, he had been employed as a greeter at Wal-Mart and a demonstrator at Sam's Club.
He was a member of the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler. He enjoyed witnessing about his faith in the Lord, poems, laminating, gardening and landscaping, hunting, and bowling; and he especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Surviving are four daughters, Sherry Bullman of Chicora, Deborah Eyth of Petrolia, Melinda Kepple and her husband, Joe, of Chicora and Jerri Stevenson and her husband, Vance, of Chicora; his children's mother, Shirley Andre of Chicora; 19 grandchildren, Jennifer, Carrie and her husband, Jon, Chris, Anna and her fiance, Will, Erica, Leah, Brandon and his wife, Shannon, Breanna and her husband, Jason, Braelene and her husband, Kevin, Brennen, Brayla, Allyson, Zach, Tyler, Noah, Dalton, Courtney, Brittany and Joshua; six great-grandchildren, Cole, Madison, Kaden, Kinzie, Lillie and Tanner; a brother, Harold "Dutch" Andre and his wife, Saundra, of Butler; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Andre of Chicora; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Gary Wimer, of New Castle. Also surviving are a number of cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; four brothers, Don, LeRoy, Cecil and Les Andre; and two sisters, Betty Wimer and Shirley Stitt.

"Jerry" Andre, who died Saturday, May 8, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Hile Funeral Home </B>of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Fared Drive, Butler. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Richard Jenks, pastor, officiating.
