Monday — Thomas Edward Snyder, 22, of Butler was arrested on charges stemming from a May 16 domestic dispute at a Wick Street home.Snyder is accused of jumping on top of 23-year-old Kasy Bell and choking her, in the alleged assault. Snyder, who is charged with simple assault and harassment, is free on $30,000 unsecured bail.
4:40 p.m. Wednesday — An SUV driven by a Slippery Rock girl, age unavailable, struck the rear of a car driven by Corey Gregory, 21, also of Slippery Rock, while it was stopped in traffic on New Castle Road in Slippery Rock Township.12:42 a.m. Wednesday — Holly Abbott, 37, of Lyndora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Meridian and McCalmont roads. Officers said they stopped Abbott while investigating an earlier accident.Police said that Abbot drove upon the accident scene and failed to follow officer's directions. In addition to DUI, she is charged with driving with a suspended license and not obeying authorized person directing traffic.Wednesday — Peter Browarny of Slippery Rock reported the theft of a Black and Decker planer and other tools from his shed at 604 Harmony Road between noon May 22 and 2 p.m. May 26. After breaking into the shed, the thief also turned over several rising mowers.10:31 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jessica McGill, 20, of Butler crashed and rolled onto its roof on Wise Road. McGill said the crash happened when she swerved to avoid a small animal on the road. Police said McGill was cited for driving at unsafe speed.2:19 p.m. Tuesday — An SUV driven by Marylin Kim, 80, of Butler struck the rear wheel of a box truck on Alameda Park Road. Kevin Baskin, 34, of Pitcairn, Allegheny County, was driving the truck.
6:30 p.m. Monday — Tiffany Cramer, 28, faces a pair of dog law violations after her pit bull attacked another dog at a neighbor's home on Jackson Street, police said. Police cited Cramer for not confining her dog and not having a license for that dog.
4:55 p.m. Wednesday — Michael R. Jamison, 46, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he rolled his motorcycle at the intersection of Brancthon Road and Route 308 in Cherry Township.7:54 p.m. Tuesday — A minivan driven by Rebecca A. Krauchak, 40, of Butler struck the rear of a car that had stopped to avoid a deer on Route 8 in Center Township. Police said Krauchak was cited for following too closely to another vehicle. Devin N. Wehr, 16, of Slippery Rock was driving the car.Saturday — About $600 in food, beverages and cleaning items were stolen in a burglary at the concession stand at the West Sunbury baseball fields on Hall Road in Clay Township.The unknown suspects pried open the door of the concession area to get inside between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
1:56 p.m. Tuesday — An East Brady couple was arrested following a reported domestic dispute on Iron Furnace Road in Bradys Bend Township.Joseph A. Jones, 25, and Patience N. Wolfe, 20, are both charged with simple assault and harassment. Following their arraignment on charges, they were placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $1,500 bail each.12:01 a.m. Tuesday — A Karns City man was hurt in a crash on Route 1037 in Wayne Township.Police said the crash happened when Jonathan D. Renoll, 25, lost control of his car and slammed into a guardrail. The car caromed off the guardrail, traveled back across the road and hit an embankment.The car spun around and rolled over two complete times, throwing Renoll out of the vehicle. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt. A passenger, Justin W. Baker, 30, of Dayton, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.Renoll, despite being injured in the crash, along with Baker walked away from the wreck, leaving behind the badly damaged car that was still partially in the southbound lane, police said.Police said Renoll later showed up at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township for treatment of moderate injuries. A medical helicopter not long after flew him to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.Renoll, who was driving with a learner's permit, a police report noted, faces numerous charges including driving at an unsafe speed, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, illegally abandoning a vehicle, careless driving, making false reports to police and not wearing a seat belt.
5:30 p.m. Tuesday — An SUV driven by Earl Hammond, 87, of New Castle and a car driven by Jeffrey Patterson, 45, of Volant collided on Route 19 in Slippery Rock Township. Hammond received moderate injuries while Patterson received minor injuries, police said.
