Daniel Bogdanich Sr.
Daniel Joseph Bogdanich Sr., 87, of Valencia, Middlesex Township, died Saturday morning at the LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born in Rural Ridge, Allegheny County, Aug. 1, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eva Markavich Bogdanich.
Dan was a civil engineer for Simone Construction in Washington state.
He was a member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church in Middlesex Township.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 759th Engineer Parts Supply Co. in the South Pacific.
He enjoyed golf, woodworking, photography, camping and travel.
Surviving are his wife, Lilamay J. Tolley Bogdanich, who he married Jan. 3, 1943. He was the father of Amy Wellman of Valencia, Daniel Bogdanich Jr. and his wife, Marcy, of Mars, and John Bogdanich and his wife, Tina, of Sarver; grandfather of Maggie Bogdanich, Corry Harley and Ryan Wellman; great-grandfather of Isabella, Lulu, Addi and a soon-to-be-born great-grandson; and brother of Josephine Essig in North Carolina and Mary Kleya in Glenshaw.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Bogdanich.
