Monsour

Josephine Monsour, 88, of Butler died Monday evening at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Butler on Jan. 9, 1922, a daughter of the late Kelly and Freda Abbott Betres.

Mrs. Monsour worked in the collection department of the Butler County Credit Bureau for 15 years from 1966 until 1983. Before that, she worked at Bitter's Market and at the Pullman Standard plant during the World War II war effort.

A member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Butler, she also was a member of the Women's Guild of St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church.

Josephine enjoyed playing cards, especially 500 with her friends. With her husband, she had made several driving trips across the United States. From 1994 until 2008, she had spent the winter months in Jupiter, Fla., with her family.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 65 years, David Monsour, who she married Sept. 21, 1944. Also surviving are a son, David K. Monsour of Jupiter, Fla.; a daughter, Linda Bodesheim and her husband, Charles, of Butler; and a sister, Virginia Betres of Parkersburg, W.Va. She had most loved her four grandchildren, Michael Fabrizzi, David K. Monsour II, Lori (Randy) Smead and Matthew Bodesheim along with her four great-grandchildren, Anna and Micah Fabrizzi, Courtney (David) Ricciardella and Cassandra Smead.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel E. Betres; and three sisters, Ann Claypoole; Nellie Ammeen and Madeline Esper.

<B>Monsour</B> — Friends of Josephine Monsour, who died Monday, March 29, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. The Rev. James W. Dolan, pastor, will officiate.
