Donald G. Kaercher, 87, of Pine Township, Gibsonia, died Saturday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Minneapolis, Minn., Nov. 8, 1922, he was the son of the late George E. and Inga Wahl Kaercher.

Mr. Kaercher was the founder of the Nordic Company in Gibsonia. He also was a retired salesman for Cowles Tool Co. in Cleveland.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibsonia. He had been a member of the John E. Mair Lodge 729 F&AM and the Hampton-Richland Lions Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Heidi Ott of Lake Worth, Fla.; two sons, Mark Kaercher of Palo Alto, Calif., and Todd Kaercher and his wife, Rebecca, of Gibsonia; and his grandchildren, Justin, Kaylan, Kelsey, Jessica, Kaia, Leah, Gordon, Zach, Jillian and Grant. Also surviving is a son-in-law, Thomas Dorsch (Rita) of Mars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn A. Wold Kaercher, who he married Nov. 9, 1947, and who died June 22, 2008; and by a daughter, Anita Dorsch, who died in 1990.

<B>Kaercher </B>— Friends of Donald G. Kaercher, who died Saturday, March 27, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Route 910, Gibsonia, with the Rev. Joel Benson, pastor, officiating. Please meet at the church.
