Man robbed after leaving bar Saturday
A 39-year-old man told Butler police he was attacked early Saturday morning and robbed of $200.
The man said he had left a bar on West Cunningham Street and was walking back to his Ridge Avenue home about 2:45 a.m. when he heard a noise.
The next thing he knew, he "was laying on the ground" near the Farmer's Market on Race Street, a police report said, "and his wallet was on the ground next to him."
The victim said he did not see who or how many people accosted him. He said $200 and an old pay stub were missing from his wallet.
The man said he did not immediately call for help because his cell phone battery was dead. Instead, he walked more than a mile to the Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.
A hospital staffer called police at 4:15 a.m. to report the assault. The police report said the man had cuts on his head.
Police have no suspects.
