7:14 p.m. Monday — A 47-year-old man was injured when an unknown vehicle struck the bicycle he was riding on Route 8 near North Main Street Church of God. Police said the unknown driver did not stop after the accident. Christopher Sonavec of Butler was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Anyone who saw the accident is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.2:15 a.m. Sunday — Kristin Tate, 27, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a head-on crash on Route 8 in front of Greater Butler Mart. Tate and a passenger in the other car, driven by Christopher Senkow, 24, of Pittsburgh, were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Police said Tate, in addition to DUI, is charged with careless driving and driving without headlights on. Senkow also was cited for a left-turn violation.11:51 p.m. Saturday — Dwayne Cooper, 47, of Butler Township was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his pickup truck crashed into a ditch on Greenwood Drive. Police said Cooper also was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.6:46 p.m. Saturday — One person was injured in a chain-reaction crash on Litman Road near Butler Area Sewer Authority. The accident happened when a vehicle driven by Barbara Carson, 76, of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Ryan Miller, 19, of Butler. The collision pushed Miller's vehicle into the back of a vehicle driven by Harold Powell, 77, of Euclid, Ohio. Police said Carson, who suffered minor injures to her arms when her vehicle's air bags deployed, was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.2:33 p.m. Friday — An alleged bar code scam artist faces several charges in connection with a theft at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Adam Klimkowski, 24, of Freedom, Beaver County, bought 12 items at the store; but on four of those items he taped on counterfeit UPC bar-codes. By swapping the bar-coded prices with fake ones, police said, Klimkowski was able to purchase each of those items at a cheaper price. When officers searched the defendant's car, they found about 50 fake bar codes along with several receipts from stores in Butler and Cranberry townships, according to a police report. Police said Klimkowski faces charges for possessing instruments of crime, theft by deception, retail theft and criminal mischief.

2:15 p.m. Friday — A17-year-old boy was caught with unspecified drugs at Freeport High School. Police said the boy, who they did not identify, is charged in juvenile court for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

7:48 a.m. Tuesday — Cars driven by Stacey Bowers, 42, of Volant and Daniel Pisor Jr., 20, of Harrisville collided at Route 208 and George Junior Road in Pine Township. Pisor was treated at Grove City Medical Center for minor injuries.7:33 p.m. Friday — A Lawrence County woman was dragged by a getaway car after trying to stop a pair of robbers who struck the Aldo store in the Prime Outlets in Springfield Township. The suspects, who police did not identify, walked into the store, took the boots and left. A25-year-old Ellwood City woman followed one of the suspects outside. The other robber apparently had already gotten into a car parked near the curb.Police said the woman grabbed a car door in attempt to prevent the second suspect from getting into the vehicle. But the driver took off, dragging the woman a short distance through the parking lot.Investigators did not say if either suspect was arrested, or if the victim was injured. Police, meanwhile, ask anyone with information about the crime to call the barracks at 725-662-6162.

Tuesday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported that Rowe's Country Tavern, Inc. in Saxonburg was recently cited for a pair of liquor law violations.Authorities said bar employees between July 17 and Aug. 6 engaged in disorderly conduct and also issued a check with insufficient funds to buy a supply of alcohol.The charges could result in fines between $50 and $1,000, and a possible license suspension or revocation.
