Emma Grace Barkman
Emma Grace Barkman, 81, of Saxonburg died Thursday at her home.
Born Nov. 16, 1926, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of George C. Newman and Elsie K. Aloway Newman.
A homemaker, she was a charter member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and also was a member of the Maqueda Chapter 421 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband Jack R. Barkman, who she married Jan. 17, 1946; four daughters, Toni DeMott of Norwich, N.Y., Jackie Barkman of Saxonburg, Brenda Huffman and her husband, Larry, of Saxonburg, and Karen Macurdy and her husband, Richard of Butler; nine grandchildren, Matthew Barkman, David and Kim DeMott, Kory and Kathy Guynup, Kristin and Kevin Miller, Jeremy Macurdy and Lukas Macurdy; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Barkman, Dakota Snyder and Mercedes Guynup.
Preceding her in death were one brother, Duane Newman; two sisters, Louise Shaffer and Joy Fraker; and one grandson, Adam Huffman.
