Matthew 'Matt' Brown

Matthew W. "Matt" Brown, 20, of Zelienople died May 11, 2008, while on guard duty in Afghanistan.

It is with great sorrow that the family of Matt informs you of his passing.

He graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 2006 after which he joined the Army.

He was born in San Diego, Calif., in 1987. He was the beloved son of James and Sandra.

He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed playing sports, especially football with his friends. He also enjoyed computers and video games. He liked to help people by doing volunteer work and benefit runs.

Matt had planned to attend college after his time in the Army.

He also is survived by his sister, Julia Brown, and sisters and brothers, Fidel, Joey and Sara; grandparents, Ron and Linda Brown and Georgia Brinley; aunts and uncles, James and Georgia Metsger and Helen Brown; and cousins, Ray, Max and Arthur Morrow.

We will gather to celebrate Matthew's short life, to mourn his loss, and to say goodbye until we see him again in Eternity.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., Zelienople. Everyone is to meet at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at the English Lutheran Church Cemetery, Zelienople.Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, P.O.
